Job Title: Management Systems & Planning Advisor
Lumwana Mine, Solwezi, Zambia.
Reporting to: Business Design Manager
Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the North Western region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km south west of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Management Systems & Planning Advisor.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Business Design Manager, you will be responsible for driving the implementation, adoption and improvement of business planning systems; business decision data base, management operating systems, life of mine business plans, budgets, reforecasts, capital management, business planning calendar, Lumwana action tracker. Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve the site MOS (Management Operating System).
- Develop and maintain quality data base for business decision making
- Lead and improve site capital implementation effectiveness including; submission, planning and management
- Monitor and ensure execution, sustainability and improvement of multiple interdependent processes and systems
- Coordination, collation and analysis of annual budgets, forecasts and LOM (Life Of Mine) plans
- Responsible for the quality delivery of efficient, effective business planning systems
- Update and manage compliance to Lumwana and Corporate Business Calendar
- Develop and promote use of the Lumwana action tracker
- Ensure cross functional alignment of initiatives and objectives
- Review and improve systems based on the monitoring, reporting and improvement ideas of direct reports and teams
- Establish collaborative relationships with functional leaders and provide necessary support to assist with the achievement of LMC objectives and goals.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Project Management or Business Administration
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a business analysis, systems improvement environment in a mining industry in a senior supervisory role.
- Previous experience in Management Operating Systems (MOS) principles
- Outstanding planning and organizational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Must have Advanced knowledge level of spread sheets and data bases
- Good computer skills in MS Office suite with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels; excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
