Reporting to the Truck Coordinator, with a high focus on safety, your role will be to improve the reliability and availability of the Truck fleet by assessing the maintenance plan and team effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the Lumwana Mining Company Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the condition of components and general condition of equipment.
- Carry out a planned machine and statutory inspections.
- Assess and coach competency skills attainment
- Assist to identify continuous improvement opportunities in rebuilds of components.
- Assist to measure and report overall maintenance performance
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the maintenance processes and systems.
- Cooperate with the maintenance planners regarding input schedules and accurate information.
- Ensure the development of up to date job procedures for all tasks performed within the function.
- Accountable for completion of all tasks identified in the Management Operating System Elements to the specified quality and timelines as assigned to this role
- Experienced in managing and development of weekly, equipment overhaul and shutdown schedules through Microsoft Project
- Experience in large multi pit operations utilizing large scales mining mobile (Dump trucks) equipment such as Hitachi, Komastu, and Caterpillar.
- Development and maintaining of the equipment strategies workflow process on mobile equipment
- Experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) audits and analysis
- Experience in budgeting process and cost controls for maintenance department
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
- Offer support to supervisor positions so to be able to assess workplace efficiencies and provide guidance to workplace supervisors
- Generate report on machine availability through the use of a recognized CMMS preferably Pronto
Experience & Qualifications
- Advanced Trades Qualification and hands-on experience on the equipment
- Minimum Ten (10) years maintenance planning and engineering experience in the mining industry.
- Conversant with Hitachi 4500 Trucks and Siemens Drive System on electrical trucks
- Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination
- Conversant with electrical or mechanical side of the dump trucks
- Having worked on trolley assist system for Hitachi 4500 dump trucks,
- Must have a current driver’s license.
