Beit CURE Hospital is a children’s charity hospital founded by a Christian Mission Organization, CURE International.  We specialize in the surgical treatment of disabilities in Orthopedics and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT). Beit CURE Hospital under the Spiritual Department seeks to recruit the following position:

CHILD MENTOR 

Reports to: Assistant Spiritual Director

Supervision: None

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Evangelism and discipleship to the children within the play-room and outside.
2. Encourage and counsel the children biblically based as per their needs.
3. Teach children through bible stories, narratives and visual aids and placards.
4. Help Spiritual Ministry teach the children school lessons for those who stay long.
5. Organize games, skits, video showing and other fun related activities for the children.
6. Offer relationship building between children to their fellow children, parents/guardians, or visitors where necessary.
7. Maintenance of all equipment and apparatus in the play room including cleaning of all toys in the playroom on a daily basis to prevent contamination.
8. Write children’s interesting stories based on a given guideline.
9. Coordinate Sunday programs, as necessary with other spiritual leaders.
10. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Spiritual Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AT ENTRY:

1. Certificate / Diploma in Theological / Biblical Training / Teaching.
2. At least 3 years experience as child mentor or related with ability to handling children in matters related to psychology, counseling, evangelism, discipleship and biblical teaching.
3. A born again and mature Christian.
4. Good Christian character that portrays a good relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
5. A call to Christian Ministry and service.
6. Flexibility to serve and be honest in any duty according to the directives of the spiritual centre administration.
7. Good communication skills and customer care.
8. Ability to work with people of diverse cultures, different faith or at different places.
9. Good command of both written and spoken English, Nyanja/bemba added advantage.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATE

1. One (01) year of Pastoral or Teaching experience.
2. Ability to comfort.
3. Ability to lead and coordinate prayer.
4. Ability to facilitate group process.
5. Ability and stamina to minister to patients, relatives and staff.
6. Flexibility in work hours.
7. Excellent team building and networking skills.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Demonstration of a mature Christian faith
