INVITATION TO BID FOR DEVELOPING A REPOSITORY OF BEST PRACTICES, SUCCESS STORIES AND LESSONS LEARNT FOR SCI PROJECTS CONSULTANCY SERVICES

1. Project Background and Context

Save the Children is the world’s leading independent non-profit organization for children. Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development, and participation. Its mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting changes in their lives. In Zambia, Save the Children has been implementing programs across Child Rights Governance (CRG), Health and Nutrition, Child Protection, Education, Child Poverty and Humanitarian thematic areas since 1983.

2. Purpose

Guided by the Theories of Change (TOC) in all the thematic areas of interventions as pillars for program quality, Save the Children International in Zambia intends to undertake a reflection and documentation of its project/program interventions which once collected stored will be used for replication and or scale up in Zambia and other SCI countries. Through this process, we will also document the impact of our common approaches as replicable models. These will be best practices, success stories and lessons learned and will be shared with other key stakeholders in Zambia, the region and internationally.

Save the Children Zambia Country Office is hereby requesting for submissions of expressions of interest for consultancy services to undertake a reflection and documentation of its project/program interventions.

3. Target groups for the Project

Project beneficiaries (focus on children), community members, community leaders and government line ministries.

4. Proposed time-frame

The proposed time frame for completing this assignment is 20 working days from 15th April to 15th May 2020.

5. Required profile of the Consultant/team

The consultant/team must demonstrate the following qualifications in order to be eligible for this assignment:

  • The Team Lead must hold a degree in a relevant field: Communication and Development Studies. Other team members should also hold relevant qualifications in any of these areas.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in investigative and significant change story writing.
  • Clear articulation of capacity and skills, and innovative approaches to carry out the assignment; as well as ·a clear work plan and articulation of expected methodologies and outputs within a tight timeframe.
  • Photography skills and experience and ability to administer informed consent forms.
  • Ability to start immediately and work under strict time limits.
