Nkana Water and Sewerage Company is a Commercial Water Utility Company providing quality Water and Sanitation Services to its customers in Kitwe, Kalulushi, and Chambishi. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Company seeks to employ suitable, highly motivated and goal oriented professionals to fill the following vacancies:

BOILER MAKER (X1)

Job Purpose

To manage all metal fabrication and welding jobs on infrastructure and equipment in order to enhance process continuity and sustain productivity.

  1. To participate in both planned and unplanned maintenance works /shutdowns as requested by Superintendent or superior.
  2. To keep safe custody of all fabrication tools and equipment, and ensure the right usage is upheld at all times.
  3. To uphold the effective storage of electrodes and gas cylinders drawn from the stores for maintenance works.
  4. To ensure good house-keeping of equipment, tools, and workplaces at all times.
  5. To initiate PR and stores requisition for needed materials to enhance reliable fabrication service.
  6. To, whenever applicable, ensure all Breakdown Reports, Job Cards, and Maintenance Work Orders are adequately completed and submitted to the Supervisor.
  7. To comply with good safety and occupational health norms at all times in work places as stipulated by company SHEQ Policy.
  8. To ensure all parts/ components that are removed/replaced on any piece of equipment is either safely kept or is discarded correctly as recommended by superiors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least six (6) Credits
  • Craft Certificate In Metal Fabrication or Welding
  • At least two years of work experience

  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project, MS-PowerPoint, and Maintenance Management System
