The Civil Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian Nationals to fill vacant positions of Director (M) in the Ministry Energy.

DEPARTMENT:        PETROLEUM

JOB PURPOSE

To manage and develop the of the petroleum industry in order to ensure the security of supply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Successful Candidate will be reporting to the Permanent Secretary and shall be responsible for:

(   a) Management of petroleum feedstock;

(   b) Ensuring facilitation of the management of petroleum strategic reserves both stock and infrastructure;

(   c) Validation of claims and contributions under the uniform petroleum pricing mechanism in the country;

(   d) Provision of technical guidance and support to oil marketing companies and stakeholder institutions on petroleum management;

(   e) Ensuring timely coordination of the development and implementation of national, bilateral and multilateral petroleum programmes; and

(   f) Effective management of the utilisation of human, financial and material resources in order to attain objectives of the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have the following requisite qualifications: –

(a)              A Full Grade Twelve (12) / Form 5 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics;

(b)             Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Natural Resources  or its equivalent;

(c)              Master’s Degree in Energy/Petroleum or another relevant field shall be an added advantage;

(d)             Ten (10)years working experience, Six (6) of which should be at Senior Management Level

MINIMUM AGE

Applicants must not be less than thirty-five (35) years and not older than forty-five (45) years.
