Under the supervision of the Technical Manager, the Software Engineer / Developers:

  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications and components and is responsible for data transformation and data import/export from a variety of sources
  • Responsible for website and web application programming, elements of graphic design and layout and database development.

Qualifying Criteria

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma (Computer Science / Information Systems)
  • Microsoft Accreditation e.g. MCTS – preferred
  • Min 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role including but not limited to:
    • .Net programming in Visual Studio 2012
    • Microsoft SQL 2014/16
    • SQL 2016 & Json experience
    • Experience ASP.NET VC, WCF or Web API, REST or SOAP API web services and SQL
    • Google maps / high maps/heat mapping experience
    • Charting technologies such as Google Charts, High Charts or similar products
    • Proficiency in HTML, Json, jQuery, CSS, AJAX, angular and JavaScript
    • Working knowledge of OO Design and common design patterns
    • Working knowledge of Windows server and ISS platform
    • Experience with recognized industry patterns, methodologies and techniques
    • Familiarity with Agile engineering practices
    • Strong mathematical / statistical aptitude / related experience
    • Advanced EXCEL and ACCES skills
    • Strong communication and organizational skills

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • Candidate must have excellent SQL programming and database design and development ability
  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products.
  • Hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Web Services and APIs.
  • Create site layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
  • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to web applications.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using software development best practices
  • Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our sites
