Business Development Manager – SME: Izwe Loans Zambia PLC


Job Purpose

  • To build corporate off-taker relationships for value chain business with their SMEs
  • To grow and retain a portfolio of SME clients trading with the business
  • To ensure best in industry collections within the portfolio
  • To innovate new, secure product offerings for SMEs while maintaining a high standard of collections
  • To ensure world-class customer service and leading class turn-around time for transactions
  • To ensure low attrition levels within the portfolio
  • To meet required targets for sales, revenue and profitability within the portfolio

Experience

  • Banking or Financial Services Background
  • Strong salesperson with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales function with at least two at supervisory level. A strong bias for sales capability.
  • Proven track record of dealing with SMEs and supply chains in Key sectors of Mining, Oil Marketing, Manufacturing, Utilities, and Telecoms
  • Proven ability to prepare a detailed Credit Application for both Corporates and SMEs, with sound knowledge of credit principles
  • Proven ability to provide leadership for high performing teams and hold high-level discussions and presentations with prospective clients
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Fluent written & spoken English

Personal Attributes

  • Willingness to work within and/or outside Lusaka.
  • Valid manual drivers’ license is an added advantage.
  • Highly analytical with a high level of drive, energy, and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to function across cultures
  • Strong people management & communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
