Job Description:

Laurence Paul is seeking a Business and Investment Analyst to undertake research, analysis and reporting with the view to provide in-depth insight, advice and recommendation on prospective business and investment avenues.
This position analyses securities on behalf of Laurence Paul and its clients to provide valuation advice. The analysis is provided in form of reports used by the firm and its clients to make investment decisions regarding specific securities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify new investment opportunities.
  • Evaluate potential investment returns and resale value.
  • Investment risk assessment.
  • Detailed monitoring and maintenance of various portfolios.
  • Closely monitor and report activity on the stock market – Lusaka Securities Exchange, international stock markets and indexes.
  • Keep up to date with local and international economic trends, earnings, prospects and various factors influencing financial markets.
  • Ensure that appropriate investment legislative, regulatory, professional and business standards are researched and reported.
  • Build business and investment strategies by assessing market trends, financial statements, financial models and various other indicators.
  • Draft and write research reports.
  • Network with industry professionals.
  • Participate in competitive research.
  • Monitor local and international news, market developments and new investor products.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, Finance/ professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ZICA.

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years in either capital markets or banking and financial services.

Working hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday- Friday unless required to work overtime hours.
