Call For Multiple Specialists: University Research Co., LLC (URC) – July 2017


Established in 1965, URC offers a range of technical assistance to strengthen health and social systems and service quality by empowering communities and health workers to identify and scale up locally appropriate solutions to critical problems. URC focuses on finding ways to deliver proven approaches to health care problems, applying quality improvement (QI) methods and conducting operations research to tailor those approaches to various settings. Recognizing implementation barriers unique to each setting, we train local managers and service providers to strengthen health systems, integrate system elements, and bring improvements to scale.

Background

URC seeks qualified candidates to support the anticipated USAID-funded Zambia Scaling up Nutrition Technical Assistance project. SUN TA supports the implementation of the 1,000 Most Critical Days program and will enhance the management and implementation of the SUN Pooled Fund by providing high-level technical assistance including support for planning, implementation and monitoring at the district and sub-district levels.

University Research Co., LLC is seeking:

  • Program Managers

Interests and experience in the fields of:

  • Agriculture and market systems
  • Food safety and processing
  • Disaster risk reduction and preparedness for emergency food response
  • Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) and Essential Nutrition Actions
  • Early childhood development
  • Health systems strengthening
  • Family planning
  • Maternal and child health
  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  • Quality Improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree; Masters degree in nutrition, public health, agriculture, international development or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience; prior experience with USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and strong inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work independently and with team members and partners at all levels
  • Work experience with local and international partners in Zambia, including both private and public partners
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
