The National Food and Nutrition Commission is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament CAP 308 Chapter 41 of 1967, with the mandate of providing promotional, advisory and regulatory support to the government on matters of food and nutrition. In line with its mandate, NFNC with support from partners is implementing Phase Two (2) of the Multisectoral Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN)/1st 1000 Most Critical Days Program in various districts across Zambia.

The Institution now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up positions under this program, at National level:

CAPACITY BUILDING EXPERT

JOB PURPOSE

To support NFNC develop and implementation Capacity building programs, for effective implementation of the 1st 1000 Most Critical Days Program (MCDP)

KEY RESULT AREAS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY (MAIN DUTIES)

Nutrition Workforce report

Support NFNC with review and updating of the nutrition workforce report

Short training

Organize short training in program management for Provincial and District Coordinators as well as the DNCCs and WNCCs

MCDP Management Plan

Help coordinate institutional management development plan for the MCDP for various levels

In service Curriculum

Review Inservice curriculum for various stakeholders implementing nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions

Reports

Generate periodic and progress reports for communication and advocacy activities

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Masters’ Degree in Nutrition or any related field of study is required
  • A qualification in teaching methodology or curriculum development will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a reputable organization
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, and Outlook

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Able to write analytical and technical reports
  • Able to communicate effectively in English
  • Able to work with people of a different culture
  • Experience in training
