Capital Markets Association of Zambia Is Currently Recruiting: Admin Officer


The Capital Markets Association of Zambia (‘’CMAZ’’) was officially registered under the Societies Act Cap 119 of the Laws of Zambia on the 20th of April 2016. CMAZ is a non-profit and non-political association set up for and on behalf of all capital market participants in accordance with section 208. (1) of the Securities Act of 2016. The objective of CMAZ is “to contribute to the growth of the domestic capital markets through the provision of a structured and well-articulated forum for capital markets participants to engage with key stakeholders on matters that affect the attainment of desired growth, as well as provide a platform that allows for networking among key market players”.
CMAZ is seeking to employ a suitable Administrative Officer to perform a wide range of administrative and clerical duties including the following:

Reception and Office Administration

  • Receive visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Respond to general information requests with accurate information.
  • Maintain the Association’s calendar.
  • Prepare and modify documents including reports, drafts, memos, and e-mails.
  • Sort incoming mail, faxes, and courier deliveries for distribution to appropriate persons.
  • Run the Association’s general errands.
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports.
  • Maintain office supply inventory.
  • Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient.
  • Update and ensure the accuracy of the association’s databases.
  • Back-up electronic files using proper procedures.
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support.
  • Meeting, even, and travel scheduling.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and corporate events.
  • Month end duties as required.
  • Assist with financial management.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Board.

Provide Board Support

  • Prepare and distribute meeting notifications, correspondence, and agenda materials.
  • Draft minutes of Board Meetings.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • In-depth knowledge on capital marketsInterest in current affairs and appreciation of their impact on investment.
  • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
  • Numerical skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented
  • Professional demeanour

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in Banking and Finance, or related field with  proven experience as an Administrative Officer
  • Membership to a professional body is an added advantage
