Job purpose
To effectively generate sales within the Barclays Bank branch network and externally in the broader insurance market. To drive sales and service delivery requirements within the Barclays space. To increase the % insurance penetration rate of the total number of policies sold to the bank’s existing customer base. To assist in growing the existing book of business but also focusing on the up selling of new business. Focus on the customer experience and embed the 6 steps of financial planning into the sales model. Improve the turnaround time on the end to end process of policies
Accountability: Achievement of Sales Targets (40 %)
Achieve set sales targets of Gross Premium Income by up selling on the pre-designed products. Liaise with the Bankers on own portfolio to generate leads. Engage with business partners (Bankers) with in country stakeholders to generate leads. Utilize the set calling programme to intermediaries that is designed and implemented Manage turnaround times within the set Service level agreement (SLA) with relevant stakeholders.
Embed the 6 steps of financial planning into the sales model.

Accountability: Build and manage stakeholder relationships (25 %)
Effectively manage relationships with business partners by supporting and attending to reasonable needs of Business Partners. Foster relationships within the area so as to create an environment conducive for good business. Engage with your intermediaries (country specific) on a business level to build sound business relationships in order for the business growth opportunities to be achieved.
Accountability: Customer Service (20 %)
Devise Banc assurance Minimum Standards covering and execution thereof: – Sales Practice, Customer Disclosures, Sales monitoring, and Arrangements with Insurance Suppliers [country specific]. Ensure that all stakeholder queries get solved by attending to the matter and or referring it to the right contact person. Adhere to the set Service Level Agreements (SLA) with regards to turn around times on the end to end process. Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, challenges/ queries, interest, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.
Accountability: Control & Governance (15%)
Devise Banc assurance Minimum Standards covering and execution thereof: – Sales Practice, Customer Disclosures, Training & licensing, Code of Conduct, Arrangements with Insurance Suppliers [country specific]. Execute on all compliance procedures. Adhere to the Barclays Group policies and procedures. Ensure appropriate risk, governance and control processes are adhered to.

Essential/Basic Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
- Essential / Minimum Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with at least Credits in 5 O Levels including english & Mathematics
- At Least Diploma level tertiary education in a Business related field/ Sales and or Marketing or equivalent
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
- No criminal record
- Preferred / Advantage Insurance qualification e,g, Regulatory Exam, COP country specific COP Diploma in Sales & Marketing Degree in Insurance
Experience
- Essential / Minimum Two (2) years experience in sales and or Marketing in Short Term or Long Term insurance Proven track record on achieving sales. At least two (2) years experience in delivery customer service.
- Preferred / Advantage 3 years experience in Life and or Short-term Insurance industry in customer facing role or sales role.
