Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia’s development and capacity building programs focus primarily on Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Economic Security and Youth Empowerment, including Child Protection and Participation. Plan International Zambia has programme areas in; Central, Luapula, and Eastern Provinces including in Lusaka, where the Country Office is located.
Plan International Zambia seeks to recruit suitable, self-starters and experienced candidates for the following positions to be based in Kabwe, Central Province:
Cash & Voucher Field Assistant (Emergency Response Programme) Food Crisis – x 1 Temporal Position 3 Months
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent’s mission will be to ensure that the cash and voucher programs are implemented based on the standard operating procedures of Plan International Zambia. The Cash & Voucher Field Officer will work closely with the Cash & Voucher Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The cash and voucher assistant will assist the program teams in the day to day implementation of all program activities in the areas of intervention
- Cash and voucher assistant is responsible for assisting in the implementation of CTP and other activities in the intervention communities of Chibombo or Chisamba.
- With support from the Program Officer – Cash & Vouchers assistant, s/he will assist the Program Officer to supervise all projects, project selection and planning, project assets, local government and community liaison work, monitoring and payment.
- The Cash and voucher Assistant will report to the Cash & Vouchers Project Coordinator and work collaboratively with fellow program and MEL staff.
- S/He will Support in the process of beneficiary registration, community mobilization and sensitization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Diploma in Economics, Political Science or related field is preferable
- Experience in cash and voucher programs desired
- Previous work experience in community development or with an INGO (preferably in child protection)
- Experience in food security interventions is highly desired
- Good understanding of markets, background in economics strongly needed
- Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word is desired
- Knowledge of central province District and particularly, localities will be an added advantage
- Minimum 1 years of professional experience (past experience working with Chisamba or Chibombo communities a plus)
- Excellent command of the English language and another local language
