Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ): Driver x15

Report to Business Development Coordinator. The successful candidate will drive Venyou and leased vehicles to achieve the organizations goals and objectives.

Main Duties

• Ensures that assigned vehicle is clean and road worthy by making sure that oil, water, brakes, spare tire, wheel spanner, jack and lighting system are all in good working condition and arrange for refuelling
• Informs the supervisor in advance when each particular vehicle is due for road license and fitness
• Delivers and picks up mail and other items/asserts from various locations within and out side Lusaka
• Reports immediately to the supervisor any observed malfunction on the vehicle as well as any accident
• Assists with the loading and offloading of staff luggage, products, and materials.
• Adjusts travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.
• Complies with Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices
• Ensures that vehicles driven and property therein are handled appropriately, exercising due care and control
• Provides accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum of a SADC Driving License class C
• Customer oriented mindset, cross functional communication and cooperation, multi-tasking skills, problem solving skills and manual activities,vehicle knowledge and team work
• At least 3 years relevant experience in a reputable Organization. Must have a clean track record
• Must have good defensive driving skills. Ability to work with deadlines and be a team player
• Honest and trust worthy
