Chambishi Copper Smelter (CCS) is one of Zambia’s largest copper concentrate processing companies, with a design capacity to produce approximately 250,000 tons of copper per year. It also produces over 670,000tons of sulphuric acid annually as a by-product for the local and export markets. CCS seeks to fill the following vacancy at its Copperbelt High-tech Plant.

 

Technologist -Auto Electrician (5)

Responsibilities

  • To troubleshoot and repair of electrical equipments on machines;
  • To inspect and assess equipment to be worked on in order to estimate its state of repair;
  • To perform repairs in the field in active work areas and outside the plant;
  • Perform preventive and/or predictive maintenance tasks and procedures on a wide range of equipment (Cat, Komatsu, and Kress);
  • Troubleshoot major equipment components such as electrical engines and ECU;
  • Prepare a list of electrical repair parts as required the maintenance policy;
  • Provide a written description of work performed and time performed;
  • Maintain company machines in a clean and orderly manner.

 

Requirements/Qualifications 

  • Advanced Certificate in Auto-Electrical Engineering.
  •  Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the relevant field.
  •  Able to work with minimum supervision.
  •  Able to multi-task.
  •  Must be affiliated to EIZ.
  •  Aged between 25-35 years.
