Dot Com Zambia is a suite of e-commerce company specializing in personal shopping, shipping and supply chain management for customers living in Zambia wishing to make online purchases or source goods from the USA, China, the UK and from within Zambia. Those purchases are processed and consolidated in our various offices around the world and then exported to the head office in Lusaka, Zambia. In addition the company builds and operates e-commerce platforms for businesses within Zambia such as Bus Tickets Zambia. Dot Com Zambia is looking for a Chief Operations Officer, reporting to the CEO, who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the e-commerce division both within Zambia and the satellite operations around the world. The Manager will primarily oversee the operations and service function within the division for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term goals in line with company vision and values.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day business operations in the e-commerce division to achieve company goals
- Oversee functions such as logistics operations, billings and financial reporting
- Resolve business issues and ensure that all escalated issues are closed
- Develop and enforce best practices to ensure operational efficiency
- Ensure that team work in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Identify areas of improvements and concerns and accordingly develop action plans
- Position requirements
- Dynamic, flexible and multi-skilled individual who can handle the multiple roles required of a division manager for an SME
- Demonstrated experience in an entrepreneurial environment
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and conflict resolution skills
- Creative problem solving skills
- Excellent oral, written, analytical and technical skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills along with customer service experience
- Qualifications and experience
Qualifications
- Degree in a business related field, Advanced degrees will be a plus
- Three or more years of experience in similar role or strategic management role
- Management experience in E-commerce or Logistics Company will be a plus
- Superior computer skills with a strong working knowledge of internet technologies
