Key Responsibilities

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

  • Maintenance works in the crushers and M.I.G welding will be an added advantage
  • Carry out daily inspections on the conveyor steel structures and chutes
  • Fitment of liners in the chutes/thermal lancing of mantle liners and any heavy-duty steel
  • General fabrication
  • Provide training and development opportunities for all direct reports on an ongoing basis, with a particular focus on Zambian employees
  • Develop and manufacture cable racking bends and off-sets and install
  • Full welding skills-vertical up, horizontal (stick welding)
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Use oxy and Acetylene cutting torches.
  • Able to read and work from schematic drawings and on-site variations.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Grade 12 Certificate
  • Crafts certificate in Metal Fabrication
  • Must be a member of EIZ.

Experience & skill:

  • Experience with heavy fabrication and Fixed and Mobile plant experience
  • Pipe fitting and fabrication
  • Working knowledge and experience of pre pinch rollers, guillotine, punch & shears, band saw
  • Pressure welding skill
  • MIG & TIG experience
  • The welding of aluminum and cast iron
  • Oxy lancing
  • Air arc gouging
  • Welding with gas and gasless welding wires
  • Silver soldering and Brazing.
