The Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) is an independent power transmission, distribution and generating company with interests in closely linked businesses, including optic fibre based telecommunication, in Zambia and the Sub – Saharan African region. CEC invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the following position:

Responsibilities

• To carry out mechanical maintenance work in an assigned area in order to ensure effective, efficient and cost effective installation, maintenance and repair of equipment to sustain Company operations
• Conduct regular inspection checks on mechanical equipment to ensure that the system is running efficiently at all times
• Carry out system equipment maintenance duties to enhance equipment availability
• Undertake prompt mechanical repairs on system equipment to maintain continuous operations
• Effectively carry out mechanical installation of new equipment within scheduled time
• Carry out mechanical field maintenance activities in the most effective and efficient way
• Undertake any other job that may be assigned from time to time
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safe working practices and adhering to safety rules and regulations so as to ensure the safety and security of personnel and equipment

Qualifications

• Craft certificate in Plant Fitting or Mechanical Technician
• Two (2) years post qualification experience
• Should be computer literate
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• The successful applicant will be required to take up the appointment immediately
