Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the following position;
District Controller
To perform system operations function on all electrical equipment connected to the Copperbelt grid network under normal emergency conditions in order to maintain continuity of power supply to CEC customers.
Key Accountabilities
- To analyze faulty condition by reeding relays and physical check and isolate faulty apparatus from the rest of the system
- Checking energy meters and ensure that they are operating correctly by observing and reading the metres,for billing purpose and that the consumers are getting the right supplies
- To regularly carry out trip tests in order to check ,ascertain and validate the integrity of protection schemes and associated equipment so as to security of supply to CEC customers and business partners and also safety of personal and apparatus
- Conduct substation checks to ensure that all work and operations are in accordance with system/mining regulations
- Ensure that all standby apparatus equipment are in good working order for use in emergency situations
- Carry out faulty finding on substation DC,and 300 volts and protective gear circuits and arrange for the repairs of defectives ones.
- Ensure that submission drawings and electricals writing diagram are accurate,upto to date, readily available and in good condition to facilitate relevant engineering work
- To maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the substation surroundings
- Facilitate the training of employees and consumers on high voltage switching
Artisan Automotive
To carry out repairs and maintenance of all motor Vehicles at CEC in compliance with required engineering standards in order to order to sustain company operation
Key Accountabilities
- To carry out routine maintenance on all motor vehicles in order to ensure their reliability for company operation
- To carry out repairs on detectives vehicles which diagnosis, dismantling replacement or reconditioning of the parts, assembling and testing of completed vehicles
- To undertake repair and maintenance on the diesel generators to ensure optimum perform
- Recover vehicles which break down outside the plant for security purpose
- To carry out automotive repair activities in the most efficient and effective manner to ensure that the same are performed right the first time
- To undertake any other jobs that may be added from time to time in compliance with company programs of multi-skilling
- Undertake and complete given assignment s within allocated time frame to avoid unnecessary overtime
- To ensure that all company resources in the garage are used solely for company purposes and there is no misuse assets such as vehicles, tools and other materials
Qualifications
- Full grade twelve certificate
- Craft or Technician certificate in Automotive
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Experience in mobile crane hydraulics and diesel plant will be an advantage
- Valid class B or C in driver’s license
- Must be a member
Qualifications
• Full grade twelve certifcate
• Craft Technician or Advanced certificate in Power electrical from a recognized institution
• 3 years switching / operating experience in electricity transmission and distribution
• Must hold minimum Authorisation Entitlement according to CEC systems regulations
• Good knowledge of electrical theory and practice governing the operation of electrical power system
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and minimal oversight
• Must be a member of EIZ
