The CBU ICT Business and Innovation Centre (CBU IBIC) is a commercial entity of the Copperbelt University that seeks to solve societal challenges through ICT innovations. The Centre is specialised in systems development, Cyber Security, SAP training, and currently has a rich profile of clients which it supports.

ICT Business Development and Marketing Manager (1 Position)

Job Purpose

The main purpose of the ICT Business Development and Marketing Manager is to develop growth strategies and plans for the CBU ICT Business and Innovation Centre. The ICT Business Development and Marketing Manager is a very senior role in the establishment of the CBU ICT Business and Innovation Centre, and is cardinal in the growth of the Centre.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
• Increasing the Client base
• Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
• Writing business proposals
• Negotiating with stakeholders
• Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
• Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
• Following industry trends locally and internationally
• Drafting and reviewing contracts
• Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements

Skills

• Experience in sales and marketing and proposal writing
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
• Excellent organizational skills and IT fluency.
• Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
• Must have the enthusiasm and be goal-oriented.
• Ability to work in team settings and communicate effectively.
• Be efficient, dependable and professional.
• Sound analytical thinking and be able to meet project deadlines.
• Proficient in Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 or Form V Certificate, minimum of 5 “0” levels with credit or better in English and Mathematics
• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• A Masters Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field will be an added advantage
• Member of the relevant professional body
• At least four (4) years working experience.
