JOB DESCRIPTION

I. POSITION INFORMATION

POSITION TITLE: CREW SCHEDULING OFFICER

II. JOB SUMMARY:

Takes detail briefing and instruction from senior schedulers on regular basis to assign flight crew to flights during Irregularities and advises flight crew on any irregularities of the weekly printed schedule. Coordinates with the operational planner, duty dispatcher, motor pool and load controller to monitor flight crew movement on daily basis to/ from the airport Prepares and disseminates daily correction log sheet to motor pool and duty officer in-flight service. Sends crew name list of each flight to out station and load control and keeps records accordingly

III. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assigns crew to a flight by checking the master schedule in case of last-minute sick leave, mourning leave, emergency leave ETC reported by flight crew in the absence of senior crew schedulers.
  • Prepares daily correction log sheet for next day operation.
  • Takes detail briefing and instruction from senior schedulers on regular basis to assign flight crew to flights during irregularities.
  • Identifies those crew marked “To be advise, ETD, Routing and etc” on the daily correction
  • Monitors and log down reporting time on daily correction of flight crew on each flight.
  • Alerts and assign standby flight crew in case of failure to report 15 minutes after the reporting time of a flight and check their flight time coverage for smooth operation.
  • Makes sure the APIS form for each USA flights is properly filed by each flight crew before they left ADD airport and to be sent for supervisor cockpit crew scheduling in good time
  • Sends and advices crew name list and any change to load control for general declaration (CGD) for each flight and keep records.
  • Checks and corrects crew name, A/C change, ETD and etc on flight advisory against daily Correction log sheet regularly.
  • Finds and investigates the reason of failure of flight crew to report on time and notify respective supervisors in good time.
  • Logs daily report of any irregularity during his shift and send it to all concerned.
  • Sends operating crew name list to all out stations in good time.
  • Sends daily correction log sheet to motor pool for flight crew pickup.
  • Advises family of crewmembers in case of delay of more than 6hrs of arrival time of a flight and crew remaining overnight out of Addis.
  • Advises flight crew if there is any change from the weekly printed schedule on daily basis

  • Prepares and disseminates daily correction log sheet to motor pool and duty officer in-flight service.
  • Sends crew name list of each flight to out station and load control and keeps records accordingly.
  • Adheres consistently to the airline safety and security policy and procedures through identification and mitigation of operational hazards and related safety & security risks and implements all precautionary actions / measures / processes; conduct work activity safety planning before work begins, during the actual work as conditions change, debriefing and hand over activities at the end of the work and shifting to other work when emergent work is encountered; make safety a priority and participate in safety briefings and meetings and take part in implementing safety initiatives, regularly perform safety inspections of work activities, facilities, equipment and vehicles and immediately quit and report to supervisors/co-workers/concerned safety office if unanticipated hazardous or unsafe conditions are encountered.
  • As Zambia Airways Brand Ambassador, you are responsible to promote and adhere to the Brand Guidelines.
  • Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of BSC/ BA Degree or equivalent in
  • Mathematics/physics/statistics/Management/Management Information System/Business Administration or related field of studies with a Minimum of one years of experience in Airways or related areas
