DAPP Zambia Recruiting: Laboratory Technologist


Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is a local registered NGO engaged in development projects in the fields of education, health, agriculture and other poverty alleviation programmes. Projects are carried out in all the provinces of Zambia.

DAPP is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to take up two positions of Laboratory Technologist/ Technician to based in Lusaka and Sinazongwe

Summary of the Job 

  • Perform laboratory procedures in accordance with the specific test requested and standard operating procedures from specimen preparation to final analysis
  • Perform tasks in support of the analytical process as per test requirements e.g. stain preparation, cleaning, etc.
  • Receive, sort, label, and enter specimen information into database
  • Verify and validate database information against specimens received and tests requested
  • Making sure that equipment is clean and in good working order
  • Monitor and order stock of consumables to ensure that all necessary commodities are available when needed
  • Carrying out risk assessments for lab activities
  • Disposing of chemicals and waste products in a safe way
  • Coordinate and support mobile ART in operation area

Eligible Candidate

  • Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia
  • Three years or more of working experience
