Data Entry Clerks In Zambia: Ministry of Health


The Zambian government is committed to combating epidemic diseases, such as HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria. Within the government, the Ministry of Health (MOH) leads the country’s effort to promote and protect the health and well-being of the Zambian people. Working closely with other ministries and cooperating partners, like the global fund to fight AIDS, TB and malaria (Global Fund), the government has developed and implemented comprehensive population health programmes. To ensure effective monitoring of health programmes, the ministry implements the SmartCare system in selected health institutions.

Global fund under the Ministry of Health invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of data entry clerk on a short term contract of 28 days. The purpose of this position is to enter SmartCare records from selected health facilities in Lusaka province.

Responsibilities

  • Effective preparation, compilation and sorting
  • Timely checks on source documents for accuracy
  • Effective verification of data and correction of data where necessary
  • Timely collection of information for incomplete documents
  • Effective update of data and deleting unnecessary files
  • Timely combination and rearrangement of data from source documents where required
  • Effective entering of data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
  • Timely response to requests for information and access relevant files
  • Effectively compliance with data integrity and security policies, including non disclosure of information availed due to nature of the task at hand

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 5 ‘O’ level credits including English and mathematics
  • Practical knowledge of SmartCare electronic health records system
  • Practical experience and proven skills in typing and data entry
  • Attentive to details
  • Good decision making skills
  • Able to analyse information and drive to required results
