Deputy Chief of Party
Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply for the position of Deputy Chief of Party for Zambia Families (ZAMFAM) South Central Project in the Southern Province
The project has the objective to improve the welfare for 125,000 orphans and vulnerable children infected with, affected by or made vulnerable to HIV and to build resilience in their families. The project operates in 6 districts of Central and 8 districts of Southern Provinces of Zambia and is funded by USAID/PEPFAR.
The 5-year project will come to an end in December 2020.
The position is based in Choma at the Provincial Project Office.
Overall tasks and responsibilities:
- Provides overall supervision and leadership for the implementation of all program activities ensuring that the program goals are met both in quantity and quality.
- Supervises and leads a team of 6 District Coordinators, 40 Project Leaders, 105 Community Mobilizers (field staff), 10 Data Clerks and 6 Accounts Clerks.
- Coordinating with key partners including other USAID funded projects and government line departments and linking with government established community structures such as CWACs and CHWs in the Southern Province operation areas.
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to
- Manages all operations related to the program according to the work plan, program document and implementation strategy.
- Coordinates and leads operations including financial oversight in the province.
- Plans, organizes and monitors project activities with main focus on HIV services for the targeted children, and economic strengthening of the families.
- Troubleshoots, as needed, to prevent disruptions in daily program activities.
- Taking part in closing-out and handing over the project by the end of the year.
- Coordinating with key partners including other USAID funded projects and government line departments on district and sub-district levels.
- Linking with government established community structures such as CWACs and CHWs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health, social sciences or related degree.
- 5 years’ experiences in managing HIV care and support projects.
- 3 years’ supervision experiences.
- Experience in planning, designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of bigger projects.
- Candidates available to start immediately have an added advantage.
