Desktop and Network Technician Job In Zambia

Responsibilities

  • To provide 1st line technical support; answering support queries via phone and email
  • To support users remotely or onsite
  • To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all SLAs
  •  To take ownership of user problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues
  • To log all support requests in the Incident Management ticket system
  • Respond to enquiries from users and help them resolve any hardware, software or network problem
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary and guidance and advice
  • Build PC’s
  • Providing desktop and Network support
  •  Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops
  • Installing authorized software to laptops and desktops
  •  Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date
  • Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
  • Fault finding to laptops and desktops
  • Reporting faults on desktops and laptps

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Telecoms or Electronics
  • Previous Helpdesk (telephone support) experience
  • One year of Onsite Desktop support experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, Server 2003
  • Experience with 2013 Exchange Server Administration
  • Some TCP/IP experience
  • Cisco Router and Switch experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • Hands on’ approach and a willingness to learn
  • Flexible, pro-active approach
