Impact One Initiative is a non-profit organization equipping community schools in Ng’ombe Compound to provide a quality education for their students. We provide our partner schools with training, mentoring, and networking opportunities to improve their management and teaching skills. We also support our schools with reading, technology, and creative arts programs.

Education Coordinator Position

The primary role of the Education Coordinator is to develop and implement an education training and mentoring program for our partner schools targeting the key areas of literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and creative arts. The Education Coordinator will also coordinate the required staffing and evaluation of the program. Specific duties include:

  • Create and implement a strategic plan to achieve key educational goals
  • Organize educational training and provide follow up mentoring to teachers
  • Build strong relationships with our partner schools and their teachers
  • Promote literacy and reading programs within the schools
  • Promote interactive learning and the use of educational resources in the classrooms
  • Build the capacity of other Impact One staff to support educational goals
  • Build partnerships with local and international schools
  • Assist the Executive Director in mobilizing resources for the program
  • Coordinate regular monitoring and evaluation of the program

Qualifications

  • Degree in Education or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience teaching in early childhood education or primary education
  • Experience using Jolly Phonics or similar literacy program
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Understands and employs the core values of Impact One
  • Preferable, but not required:
  • Experience working with low-resource schools
  • Experience working internationally or in international schools
  • Experience providing adult education
  • Familiar with the Zambian curriculum
  • Speaks Nyanja
