Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Job: Data Associate – Ending 19 July 2017


The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and eliminating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention, care, and treatment programs. Founded in 1988, EGPAF supports activities in 19 countries around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities
  • Maintain data entry requirements by following data project techniques and procedures and reporting needed changes
  • Process and check source documents for accuracy by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution
  • If a record requires more investigation, retrieve the information to assess for completeness, accuracy and errors
  • Verify data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; purging files to eliminate duplication of data
  • Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms for storage, processing and data management purposes
  • Transcribe information into required electronic format
  • Check completed work for accuracy
  • Maintain the integrity of the records and store all generated data files in designated and secure locations
  • Secures information by completing database backups
  • Maintain logbooks or records of activities and tasks
  • Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies
  • Perform any other support duties as will be required

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a certificate in any relevant professional training program
  • Minimum of two years of Data Entry experience; preferably in healthcare and in particular, in the area of HIV/AIDS
  • Formal typing certificates or computer systems training is an advantage
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS office

Other Attributes

  • Knowledgeable with MS Word; experience with MS access is a plus
  • Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data at the required speed
  • Knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Should be detail oriented with excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Must have a proven ability to multi-task with great accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality
