Examinations Council of Zambia Currently Recruiting – Ends 17 Feb 2017
An Act of Parliament established the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) in 1983 to set and conduct examinations and award certificates to successful candidates. Before this enactment, the Ministry of Education and Culture under the Examinations Section used to conduct the examinations. After the enactment, the section continued to perform the function of conducting the examinations while simultaneously developing an institutional framework and job descriptions.

Responsibilities
- Plan and budget for the section activities
- Prepares monthly and activity reports
- Prepare performance results analysis reports for use during Council approval
- Provides advisory expert knowledge with regard to educational research
- Provides advisory expert knowledge with regard to the validation of other assessment instruments
- Ensures that activities agreed upon in the Performance Management Development Contracts are done and the performance is assessed and evaluated timely
- Prepares policy brief to act as targeted information points for effective dissemination and policy review
Qualifications
- School certificate with five credits or better including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Arts with Education or Bachelor of Science with Education
- Three years post qualifying experience
Other attributes
- Exellent computer skills
- Proficient at least on statistical package
- Experience in setting and administering examinations
- Must have high levels of integrity and confidentiality
