Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies is a public TEVET provider under the Ministry of Higher Education. The Institute is inviting suitably qualified personnel to fill the following position.

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER (01 POSITION)

Responsible and accountable to: Chief Executive Officer/ Principal

JOB PURPOSE: Provide professional leadership to Business Enterprise, Financial and Administration Departments through planning, directing and coordinating the support services. To generate resources, promote, coordinate and control the profitable use of resources and facilities in order to ensure the smooth running of the institute and achieve self-sustainability.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly reports to Finance subcommittee of Management Board
  • Make proposals, in collaboration with the Training Department, for corporate investments of resources in order to build up capacity for the institute.
  • Develop and manage business Enterprise for the sustainable operations of the institute
  • Effective management of Human Resource and support services function of the finance and administrative department to ensure the achievements of the set goals.
  • Supervise the implementation of policies and programs related to the provision of cost- effective support services for the attainment of set objectives.
  • Consolidate financial statements for auditing and decision making
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports and statement of accounts
  • Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements within the laws of Zambia
  • Oversee all payments and receipts of money in order to ensure accountability.
  • Ensure effective internal control relating to use of resources to optimize utilization as well as promote checks and balances of all financial transactions.
  • Perform bank reconciliation
  • Prepare bank deposit documentation and ensure the banking is done on time
  • Be custodian of all financial documents
  • Ensure all payments are supported by adequate documents
  • Able to prepare and consolidate output based budget
  • Fixed Asset Management.
  • Payroll Management
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Management Board

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with 5 credits including Mathematics, English, and Financial Accounting
  • ACCA , CIMA, ZICA Professional level, Bachelor of Art Degree in Accounting, or equivalent
  • Must have held a senior management position in the profession for more than 5 years
  • Must possess practical knowledge of Pastel accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Word Processing
  • Must hold valid membership with ZICA
  • An understanding of labour laws is essential
  • Must be aged between 35 to 60 years
