Summary of position
The incumbent will be responsible for finance and administrative support ensuring day-to-day financial management functions and general office operations and procedures. The Finance and Admin Assistant will work closely with the Finance/Admin Officer and program staff. The position holder will be supervised by the Finance/Admin Officer
Responsibilities
The Finance intern will assist in reviewing all payment requests and disbursement of funds ensuring proper coding and approvals. The intern will also ensure that purchasing and procurement is done as per procurement procedures and meet donor specific requirements by reviewing purchase requests for completeness & approvals, preparing requests for quotations to suppliers, analysing quotations and preparation of bid summary analysis; Implementing administrative and management policies and procedures; Efficient and effective oversight of project advances ensuring that all advances taken in a given month are liquidated appropriately. Assist in the filing and the monthly scanning of financial and programme documents and also assist in the monthly internal audit. The intern will also assist with the archiving of financial and program documents.
Qualifications
Students studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Higher National Diploma in Accounting from a recognised College/University in with support letters from their learning institutions looking for attachment posts.
Skills
Good command of computer programming, specifically Microsoft office, particularly Word & Excel; Possess good oral and written communication skills and be able to establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues and vendors; Ability to work to strict deadlines and coordinate and compile information from various sources
