Financial Accountant Job Vacancy in Zambia: The Greek Taverna

The Greek Taverna and Lodge Limited is looking for a suitable and qualified candidate to fill the position of financial accountant to assume full responsibility and accountability of the accounts department. He/She will be responsible for the day- to- day planning and implementation of the financial aspects of the business, including Controlling stock Strategic and tactical decisions affecting procurement, cost and cash flow management. This would be in addition to the timely preparation of management accounts.

Reporting to the Managing Director.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a full grade twelve certificate with at least 5 O-levels including English and Mathematics with merits or credits
• Computer literate and able to handle, Pastel, Microsoft, Excel and word packages efficiently
• Must have at least a diploma in accountancy or above.
• At least three years’ work experience in the same field or related
• Membership of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants will be an added advantage
• Develops a process for and prepares accurate and timely monthly management account statements
• Conduct and oversee the day-to-day accounting functions including Invoicing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory Control Management and assures accurate journal entries
• Prepare Payroll and Petty cash for all the business units
• Oversees management of cash flow and banking relationships
• Prepares statutory matters to ensure all returns are filed accurately and on time (i.e. review and submission of VAT, PAYE, NAPSA, tax returns).
• Ensures audit requirements are fulfilled.
