With a strategic plan to produce more than 1 million tonnes per annum of copper within five years, the Company is poised to become the largest, widely-held pure-play copper producer and one of the top five copper producers in the world.

This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level and responsibilities of the functional role. Execute / Perform tasks covering the entire tendering process, including the following:

  • Initiate contract notices, monitor contractor performance including reporting on the status of contracts and agreed deliverables.
  • Maintain an electronic and manual contract documentation system containing an audit file for each contract which will include, among others, executed contracts, correspondence, changes, deviations, amendments, clarifications and payment schedule.
  • Manage contract amendments/variations, provide ad hoc and regular contract status reports
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders in relation to the performance of contracts.
  • Initiate the bidding or tendering process and proactively manage the interface with contractors and the internal customers to avoid delays.
  • Interface with end-users and other internal stakeholders as well as direct interface with vendors to determine relevant business needs and act as a primary liaison when negotiating contract terms and conditions.
  • Demonstrate consistent behaviour in line with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Risk Management policies, procedures and standards.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe and secure work environment through proactive risk identification, reporting and management.
  • Participate as an effective team member in working collaboratively with leaders, peers and relevant others (including from other teams) to achieve business goals.
  • Any Other Duties, as per instruction from Direct Line Supervisor or Senior Management.

Requirement:

  • Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management from a recognized College or University
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage
