Position: Machinist

The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

  • The main duties of the senior Machinist is to operate the newly installed vertical borer and the heavy lathe based at the Fabrication workshop.
  • The secondary tasks will involve training of the junior machinists and also to assist at the Machine workshop if so required.
  • Further duties will be towards maintaining this equipment and associated tools.
  • Other duties as  instructed by the Supervisor

Qualification

  • Minimum of a Grade Ten (Grade 12)
  • Craft Certificate from recognised institution
  • A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience as a qualified machinist with specific experience on vertical borer and horizontal boring equipment
