Job description:

PURPOSE

To ensure the Tyre Bay and Tyre Maintenance are kept to a high standard of housekeeping and compliance. Follow all laid out safety processes and comply with all Mining Regulation around tyre management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function;

  • Identify worn & faulty components needs in accordance with the Company Standards.
  • Advise users of work required to be done on the tyres to ensure vehicle is in road worthy condition.
  • Ensuring that the compliance of Safety and Procedures are followed
  • Ensure the shift log book is completed and comply with Mining Regulations
  • Supervise and mentor crew members
  • Complete site inspection reports
  • Data entry into the tyre/rim tracking system
  • Measure and report overall tyre performance
  • Actively promote full cooperation between the maintenance and mining operation.
  • Take full responsibility and accountability for the performance of the tyre maintenance service provider.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of maintenance processes and systems
  • Any duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certified applicable Trade qualification.
  • Experience in large multi pit operations utilizing large scale mining equipment.
  • Experience in the use of a recognised Computerized Maintenance management system preferably PRONTO.
  • Previous Tyre Supervisory experience

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a related role
  • Must have vast experience dealing with tyres in the mining industry.
  • Valid Driving Licence
