Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the region’s market and customer penetration that leads to geographic sales growth. They are responsible for creating, coordinating and implementing geographically specific sales and marketing strategies to grow the business profitably as well as the overall performance and management of the Region.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

1. Sales & Business Management

  • Recruits, retains and develops people.
  • Manages performance through weekly Plan and Review sessions with Client Partner.
  • Completes regular performance evaluations.
  • Analyzes market (penetration, demographics, trends, economy, opportunities, etc.) and current clients (penetration, share of total training business, opportunities, etc.) in order to create and implement effective market and customer strategies that result in 30 % profitable growth regionally.
  • Clearly communicates and holds people accountable to goals expectations, and responsibilities.

2. Business Development

  • Proven strong track record of results. Ability to quickly build and grow a profitable business. Results oriented.
  • Experience designing and implementing organizational solutions.
  • Proven, credible strong ability to coach and mentor others on building business and meeting customer needs.
  • Proven ability to develop and close substantial business.
  • Proven ability to network.
  • Substantial experience selling to mid and large-sized organizations, preferably consultative solution selling.
  • Preferred, knowledge of FranklinCovey integrated services model and content (5 Choices, 7 Habits, Leadership, 4 Disciplines of Execution, Project Management, others).
  • Experience working with/presenting to top executives. Superb communication and delivery skills.
  • Proven ability and experience doing tactical marketing, targeted prospecting and direct customer marketing.

3. Capable Leader of People

  • Shares and creates a cohesive vision and makes application to ongoing activities.
  • Maintains direction and momentum by foreseeing needs and meeting them, and identifying obstacles and removing them.
  • Able to build and sustain an effective sale culture through the hub offices.

4. Experienced Business Manager

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a budget.
  • Demonstrated business judgment.
  • Key initiator of new business development targeting medium to large sized accounts for strategic penetration.
  • Independently calls on mid to senior-level executives and other representatives to generate product, program, and consulting sales.
  • Diagnoses and assesses client needs. Prescribes, designs and implements strategic interventions using the full range of existing or custom FranklinCovey content, products, and/or programs.
  • Presents and provides individual client consultations in context with overall intervention strategy as needed.
  • Writes and oversees effective business proposals.
  • Closes business consistently within the FranklinCovey guidelines developed for product and services mix and pricing.
  • Designs custom programs and tailors standard programs to meet individual client needs.
  • Designs account strategy and business development to develop new and existing accounts.
  • Develops and executes on territory marketing and management plan to meet and exceed monthly revenue targets.

Requirements

  • 5 – 10 years of proven sales management experience. An ability to motivate, develop and direct a successful sales team to deliver results. A proven track record of building and developing significant account revenue from Fortune 500 companies. An ability to develop regional sales management tools and processes including pipeline, forecasting, account management, budgeting, account strategies, etc. Must live in the region and have close proximity to the hub office.
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred. Frequent travel within the region and to the corporate headquarters is required.
