Job Introduction:
The General Manager: Electronic Systems and Solutions will manage the technical function for G4S Zambia and provide a comprehensive service to customers, which will involve the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of systems technology solutions
Role Responsibility:
- Develop, implement and manage the G4S security technology strategy/ policy and projects
- Strategy determines current and future security technology requirement to achieve corporate objectives
- Strategy/policy is benchmarked against best practices in industry
- Strategy/policy identifies environmental specifics to G4S
- Key projects are identified
- Security Technology budget is planned and submitted with strategy
- Strategy and budget is approved by directors
- Strategy is clearly and effectively communicated to all relevant stakeholder
- Manage outsourced partners
- Maintain support service agreements
- SLA exist with all security technology providers
- New upgrades/releases of applications process is functional
- Process to perform needs analysis (cost-benefit analysis) for new requests exists
- Manage development activities
- Ensure that new development activities (program applications) support security technology strategy
- Establish new support agreements for applications implemented
- Project management process to manage application system development/maintenance projects
- Release management and change control processes exist and are functional
- Manage operational facilities
- Manage the provision of security technology services including CCTV, access control, alarms, etc.
- Maintain and manage the implementation of security technology principles and guidelines
- A functional disaster recovery and business continuity plan exists
- Manage the budget/expenses for the Technical Department
- Check, analyze and explain major variances to budget on a monthly basis
- Ensure that expense mandates follow audit procedures
- Prepare annual security technology (hardware/software) budget
- Staff management and development
- All team members have clearly defined job profile s aligned to manager profile
- Regular goal review completed to assess achievement of results
- Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
- Completed development plans for each employee
- Employment equity plan targets measured
- Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
- Ensure that events/activities taking place in the team are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the information.

Minimum qualification & experience
- Relevant IT degree
- 5+ years experience in an IT/security technology role
- Driver’s license
- Working knowledge of alarms, CCTV, access control
