Key Responsibilities:
- Carry, load and unload materials and equipment
- Clean and maintain the designated area/surroundings in a clean, safe and organized manner
- Ensure that all the general tasks assigned to him/her are completed on time
- Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, or plumbers.
- Assist skilled construction or extraction personnel.
- Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications:
- At least a full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
- No criminal record
Experience & Skills:
The General Labourer will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
- Some knowledge of the use of elementary hand and power tools
- Reasonable ability to follow standardized oral and written instructions
- Basic communication skills
Behavioral Traits:
- Must be willing to perform all manner of duties related to his/her job
- Reasonable ability to perform routine, repetitive and/or physical tasks
- Ability to work and cooperate in a team effort, when necessary, to successfully complete an assignment.
- Reasonable knowledge of and ability to practice standard safety techniques
- Must be prepared to work under difficult conditions (heat, extreme cold or rain)
