General Manager job Opportunity in Zambia

A small boutique lodge in Zambia is looking for a General Manager.

Candidate must be a Zambian citizen and must have both the educational background and working experience to run all aspects of a lodge.  The lodge can generally accommodate 16 to 20 guests.

Requirements
Candidate must possess knowledge in the following:

  • Human resources
  • Financial control
  • Marketing
  • Public relations
  • Grounds maintenance

Specific duties:

  • Must be able to maintain high standards of hygiene
  • Guest service and financial discipline in all areas of lodge operations
  • Must be a person of integrity with good communication and leadership skills
  • Must be professional but hands on approach to the job

The lodge provides accommodation and meals, so demonstrated ability to successfully handle a Food and Beverage operation is required.  The lodge markets to international and local clientele, primarily through electronic media.  It is therefore critical that the candidate must have superior English language, computer and social media skills. Knowledge of other languages would be a great advantage.
