Great Zimbabwe University Recruiting Lecturers
Great Zimbabwe University is an institution of higher learning located in the city of Masvingo, Zimbabwe. The institution was opened immediately after independence and was initially known as Masvingo State University (MSU). The university offers degree and diploma programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the arts, commerce, education and the sciences. The institution is poised to produce graduates that are relevant to the needs of the job market in Zimbabwe.

Lectureship/Senior Lectureship/Associate Professorship
1.0 Faculty Of Agriculture And Natural Sciences
1.1 Department Of Physics, Geography And Environmental Sciences
1.1.1 Biology (3 Posts)
- Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Biology and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 degree classification.
- Applicants with a doctoral degree in the area or who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree will be given first preference.
- Successful applicants must have teaching experience at tertiary or university level and be able to teach at least two of the following modules: Microbiology, Cell Biology, Plant Physiology, Genetics and Biochemistry.
1.1.2 Chemistry lecturers (2 Posts)
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Chemistry and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 degree classification. Applicants with a doctoral. degree in the area or who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree will be given first preference. Successful applicants must have teaching experience at tertiary or university level and be able to teach at least two of the following modules: General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.
1.2 Department Of Livestock, Wildlife And Fisheries
1.2.1 Wildlife Management (1 Post)
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Wildlife Management, Fisheries or Animal Science and a relevant first degree with at degree classification. Applicants with a doctoral degree in the area or who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree will be given first preference. Successful applicants must have teaching experience at tertiary or university level and be able to teach at least two of the following modules: Wildlife Management, Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Population Dynamics and any other Wildlife modules which may be assigned.
2.0 Faculty Of Social Sciences
2.1 Department Of Human Resources Management
2.1.1 Industrial Relations (1 Post)
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 degree classification. Applicants with a doctoral degree in the area or who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree will be given first preference. Successful applicants must have teaching experience at tertiary or university level and be able to teach at least two of the following modules: Industrial Relations, International Labour Bodies, Strategic Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety Management and have the ability to undertake module development in the specified areas. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrable research output particularly in Industrial Relations or Human Resource Management.
2.2 School Of Gender And Cultural Studies (2 Posts)
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Gender and Cultural Studies and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 degree classification. Applicants with a doctoral degree in the area or who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree will be given first preference. Successful applicants must have teaching experience at tertiary or university level and be able to teach at least two of the following modules: Epistemological Issues in Gender, Gender and Development, Gender and Disaster Management, Gender and Conflict in Africa, Gender and Migration, Gender, Citizenship and Democracy, Gender, Budgeting and Auditing, Gender, Culture and Climate Change, Gender analysis and Development practices and Gender and Human Rights. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to undertake module development in the specified areas and with demonstrable research output.
3.0 Faculty of commerce
3.1 Department Of Accounting And Information Systems (2 Posts)
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Computer Science and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 degree classification. Applicants with a doctoral degree in the area or who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree will be given first preference. Successful applicants must have knowledge of tertiary education in Computer Science or Information Systems as it relates to global computer use and e-business and be able to teach at least two of the following undergraduate and Masters level modules: Introduction to Computers and Computer Applications, Introduction to Programming, Fundamentals of Computer Architecture, Software Engineering, Systems Analysis and Design, Visual Programming and Advanced Data Communications. Membership of a recoqnized professional body is an added advantage.
