Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Digital Banking Division under the Alliances Department at Head Office:-

Responsibilities

  • To lead the Alliances Department of the Digital Banking Division. Signing up strategic alliances with banking and non-banking partners across the country and business sectors and industry to achieve the strategic business goal of Digital Banking Division
  • Under the supervision of the Chief Digital Banking Officer, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-
  • Create alliances with banking and non-banking partners
  • Build funnel for future growth in existing or adjacent verticals by identifying potential strategic partners, alliances and relationships to expand digital banking offering propositions
  • Seeks out new opportunities and expands and enhances existing opportunities to build and manage the pipeline in specialty area
  • Establish a professional, working and consultative relationship with the alliance/partners, by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the alliance and partners within their industry
  • Contributes to proposal development, negotiations and deal closures
  • Build and maintain mutually agreed upon business plans with key partners
  • To develop the alliance signing framework and lead the team driving alliances
  • Implement the alliance review and engagement framework
  • Ramping up the alliance signups as per strategic goals
  • Constantly scan the market to acquire new alliances
  • Aligning the strategy with other business divisions within the Bank to leverage on the synergy
  • Alignment of strategy to technology trends and provide competitive responses
  • Identify and take ownership of generating sales opportunities through alliances
  • Owning and delivering the strategy by working closely with other businesses within Zanaco
  • Increasing the client and transactional volume through alliance signups
  • Track and report on progress of business goals and lead periodic partnership health checks
  • Identify the important value drivers and key risks and know when to set action plan; anticipate upcoming changes in project stages and collaboration of participants
  • Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Zanaco Brand
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement in sales development
  • Seeks opportunities to integrate, simplify and streamline activity through involvement of teams in the geographic and functional matrix
  • Establish and ensure smooth operation of the collaboration ground rules; protocol for formal governance meetings and procedures for decision making, project team meetings and data exchanges
  • Monitoring the relationship with alliance partners and maintaining high engagement levels with alliance partners
  • Develop strategic partner plan and conduct monthly/quarterly plan reviews
  • Regular review of the alliance profitability
  • Conduct a needs analysis to identify customer needs effectively when planning for alliance signups
  • Complete disclosure to the customers in terms of accreditation, service fees and commission
  • External: Local Regulators
  • Internal: All Divisions.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
  • Degree in a relevant field or professional qualification from a recognized university
  • Good knowledge of general banking practices and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of products, solution or service offerings as well as competitors’ offerings
  • Understands the industry and market segments in which key alliance/partners are situated
  • Negotiates and drives deals to ensure successful closure and high win rate
  • Understands the Digital Banking channels
  • Knowledge of industry trends, associated solutions, competitor offerings and structures and of different industry sectors
  • Good understanding of the principles and practices of business economics and the current business economic environment
  • Good knowledge of financial investment options and electronic banking options
