Mary’s Meals International is a fast-growing international charity, currently providing over one million hungry and impoverished children in 12 countries with a daily school meal.

Mary’s Meals International is the central organisation that co-ordinates, supports and leads the global Mary’s Meals movement, under the direction of the founder and Chief Executive.

The Mary’s Meals global movement is facilitated through the Mary’s Meals International Network which spans the countries of Austria, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, the Netherlands, Spain, UK, USA, and Zambia.  Mary’s Meals International also has a number of partnering agencies delivering life-changing programmes in Benin, Burma, Ecuador, Haiti, India, Kenya, Romania, South Sudan, Thailand and Uganda.

This is a new role, located in Chipata, Eastern Province and is part of Mary’s Meals International Global Programmes team and the post holder will support the Country Representative, as well as collaborating with colleagues in the UK programmes team, and finance and operations.

You will be able to support the strategic planning and organisational development in Zambia and be responsible for developing, setting and managing agreed budgets for the operations team. A hands-on and participative manager, coach and mentor who will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: Finance, logistics, warehousing, security, procurement, transport, property management, human resources, ITC, engineering and administration.

A minimum of a BA/BSC in Accounting/Finance and practical professional experience in the areas of accounting, operations management, supply chain management, procurement and human resource management as well as membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) are essential.

You will be able to communicate well across all levels, have experience of managing staff, the skill to inspire confidence in others within the charity and with those external to the charity with whom contact will be made, be self-motivated, pro-active, flexible, a team player and you will identify with and have sympathy for the aims and values of Mary’s Meals global movement.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has significant management experience but who can operate at all levels to get the job done.
