Health Informatics Specialist Job In Zambia – Job Dedline 12 December


The U.S. Mission in Zambia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Health Informatics Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Incumbent provides technical assistance to HIV/AIDS information and communications technology
    (ICT) activities funded through CDC Zambia with partner organizations
  • The position requires providing TA in security, training, connectivity and overall operational communications to ensure optimal ICT service delivery for PEPFAR, CDC and its implementing partners
  • Finally, the position will be part of a team responsible for the software development life cycle of the Electronic Health
  • Record (EHR) system -SmartCare to meet Zambian government and PEPFAR reporting objectives
  • The An Equal Opportunity Employer incumbent will routinely update CDC leadership on the progress of these activities and review priorities and scopes of work based on PEPFAR and CDC strategies

Qualifications

  • Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting
    each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified
  • Master’s Degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems or Software
  • Engineering is required
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience as a subject matter
  • expert in information systems with team leadership expertise is required
  • Experience should include: developing enterprise-wide information system project plans; identifying and meeting with stakeholders to gather requirements for applications design, selecting appropriate tools for
    systems development and implementation, determining hardware requirements for systems
    implementation; working with a programming team to develop and maintain systems
  • Level IV (fluent) English and Level III (good working knowledge) of two local
    languages is required. Language proficiency will be tested
  • Demonstrated ability to readily analyze, understand, and discuss
    new program design and implementation approaches; identify priority actions, generate and
    complete work plans within defined timelines is required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in achieving results with a wide range of program partners are also required
  • In-depth, comprehensive, and evolving knowledge of computer
    hardware and software systems, applications development methods and team leadership is
    required
  • Thorough knowledge of informatics concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to
    plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments and develop new informatics-related
    methods, approaches, and procedures is also required
