Heifer International Zambia: Architecture Consultancy Services for an Integrated Community Led Development Epicenter Planning, Designing and Drawing.
The Community Led Development (CLD) Consortium comprising The Hunger Project Zambia (THPZ), Heifer International Zambia (HIZ) and Restless Development, all international non-governmental organizations, committed to community led development approaches to changing the livelihood of people in Zambia, with support from the Patter Foundation are implementing the Epicenter strategy in Vubwi district, Eastern Province. The Epicenter strategy unites 5,000 to 15,000 people in a cluster of villages to create an epicenter which is a dynamic center where communities are mobilized for action to meet their basic needs. The consortium is excited to announce a call for profiles from young upcoming creative, skilled, professional architect firm, to design a community Epicenter building.
The Job purposes
The purpose is to provide a plan, design and drawing of an integrated mult-purpose community structure hub (epicenter) with creative provisions related to safety, security and functionality, and optimum utilization of locally available resources.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of detailed architectural, structural, services drawings and interiors including drawings showing details of all utilities and services, internal and external including and incorporating all revisions and including details of specifications of all special item of work.
- Preparation of the layout model and building model.
- Obtaining approval by Heifer International Zambia for above and modifying them if considered necessary by the Organization
- Design and coordination of the architectural, structural engineering, and prepare (with help of engineers, and other consultants, as necessary) complete working details, schedules, specifications, and bill of quantities etc. to describe the whole project adequately for the purpose of placing the main and other subsidiary contracts by the HIZ.
- Preparing and supplying bills of quantities, along with details of calculation of all items of work together with details of specification of all special items complete with detailed architectural drawings.
Eligibility for Competition
- A young Zambia Architecture Firm with about (1-3 years’ experience) with matching academic qualification.
- Registered with all the necessary institutions/bodies in Zambia.
- Has experience designing community projects for rural Zambia
- Very creative and innovative.
- Inspired to make a difference in rural communities of Zambia.
- Works with or is a role model to young/student architects
