Heifer International Zambia Job Recruitment: Programme Manager


Heifer International works to end hunger and poverty and to protect the environment through holistic development. HPI provides livestock, training and related services to small-scale farm families to help them achieve sustainable livelihoods.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to the processes of long, medium and short term planning for the provincial program.
  • Experience in developing strategic framework of the provincial program which reflects Heither Zambia priorities, in order to ensure quality, impact, scale and efficiency in terms of cost.
  • Ability to create relationship with relavant Government ministries and partner organisation within the province of operation.
  • Experience in establishment of livestock producer hubs, veterinary care and breeding service entreprenurship.
  • Ability to facilitate business develpoment service provider linkages to support value chain actors.
  • Ability to provide support to planning, implimentation, monitoring and evaluation of livelihoods programme activities and provide technical guidance
  • Skill in proposal writing and development
  • Ability to provide leadership and technical support to the staff at the Provincial office
  • Experience in staff performance apprisal
  • Experience in expenditure control within project budget
  • Ability to ensure compliance with contractual regulations and procedures of the donors
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge in one or more of Zambia’s major languages is recommended

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the fields of Agriculture, Agri-business, Economics, Development studies or Rural Development Administration.
  • Minimum of five year of experience in rural development or agribusiness development
