The purpose of the Zambia Strengthening Educational Performance Up (STEP-Up Zambia) project is to assist the Zambian Ministry of General Education (MOGE) to undertake education management reforms to improve learner performance. This scope of work (SOW) defines technical services to be obtained in support of achieving the following USAID results; Development Objective-Human Capital Improved, Intermediate Result – Education Achievement in Reading and Math Improved by 2016, and Sub-intermediate Results:
Job Location: Zambia
Job Title: HIV/AIDS Consultant
The HIV/AIDS Consultant will be responsible for carrying out the outlined specific tasks below:
- Work with the Ministry of General Education to organize a feedback workshop at national level on the use of the HIV policy
- Work with STEP Up to come up with the possible venue for the meeting
- Come up with the agenda and materials for the meeting
- Prepare a work plan, check list and materials needed to carry out the workshop for approval before the date of the workshop
- Complete work plan on how the meeting will be conducted, Checklist of workshop invitation letters and materials requirements
- Meeting minutes with MOGE and STEP Up before and after the feedback workshop
- Manage final copies of participants attendance list for a 2 day feedback meeting
- Produce final report workshop/technical reports outlining current status of HIV/AID material implementation at national, provincial, district and school level
- Successful meeting with MOGE officers at national level with provincial, district and school representatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Development studies, Clinical sciences or relevant medical sciences
- Possession of Master of Public health will be an added advantage
- Three years technical experience in community mobilization, working with Ministry of General Education and organising workshops
- Previous experience in facilitation of meetings and presentations on the implementation of the HIV and AIDS policy materials, best practices and challenges
- Previous experience implementing USAID-funded programs highly desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and effective presentation skills
- Good communication and writing skills in English
