Job Description

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

A leading Agricultural company is inviting applications from a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the following vacant position under its establishment:

TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER (X1) – LUSAKA BASED

JOB PURPOSE

The job holder shall be responsible for facilitating the end to end human resources activities relating to the employee life cycle and supporting various business units in implementing human resource strategy and practices in order to achieve institutional goals

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Providing guidance on policies and procedures relating to human resource policies to Line Managers and to the company;

2. Coordinate activities to support the achievement of business unit deliverables in the employee lifecycle products and services such as recruitment, assessment, induction, on-boarding, rewards, performance evaluation, learning and development, industrial relations and exit management;

3. Build effective relationships with the business units, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance to plan effective Human Resources interventions;

4. Implement business unit Human resource strategies and prepare regulatory reports to support management decision making;

5. Implement agreed on Human Resources operational plans and Human Resources change initiatives, including communication in order to ensure effective implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures;

6. Coordinate and participate in the development of human resources policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance of all labour laws, procedures and regulations;

7. Align Human Resources solutions with institutional and Business Unit needs for effective delivery of strategic goals;

8. Provide support to business units in the implementation of Human Resources solutions such as talent management, skill audits, and performance management using the balanced scorecard amongst others;

9. Coordinate the implementation of learning and development initiatives to ensure that the institution has relevant capabilities for strategy execution;

10. Advise line management on all disciplinary actions, employment arrangements and industrial relations to ensure compliance with labour laws

11. Implement solutions to embed a high-performance culture, including the effective setting of performance measures and coaching.

12. Maintain up to date records of all human resource information and statistics including confidential files at all times for easy retrieval and management decision making

13. Providing guidance, counselling and coaching support to line managers and employees on career development and all matters relating to human resources to ensure a highly motivated workforce at all times;

14. Provide human resource support on projects and provide conceptual inputs in job evaluation, job analysis, salary surveys and other related projects from time to time for effective decision making

15. Provide all necessary inputs in the administration of Compensation and Remuneration strategies for the company

16. Administer salary and other staff benefits including explaining of benefit packages to all staff in line with approved company policies.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

1. A relevant Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources

2. Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience preferably in an agricultural- based organisation

3. Registration with the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management

4. Good understanding of the Zambian Labour laws

5. A high level of computer literacy
