Job Title: Human Resources Officer

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing comprehensive overall administrative support to and effective and efficient support to the Administration.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
(Key areas of responsibility)
ADMINISTRATION
Develop a Fleet Management Policy and monitor its compliance by all staff.
Develop a comprehensive vehicle logbook and track vehicle and fuel usage on a monthly basis for business and personal trips
Assist the Transport Officer to ensure that all vehicles are in good condition and report all required servicing and/or repairs and schedule bookings with the respective service providers.
Manage the office petty cash float.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Participate in the recruitment process of new staff as may be required.
Assist with the orientation and induction of new staff when necessary.
Look after the health, safety and welfare of all employees
Monitor staff performance and attendance
Organise staff training activities
Advise line managers and other employees on employment law and the employer’s own employment policies and procedures
Prepare job descriptions and advertisements for vacancies
Track employee contracts and send reminders to Accounts & Administration and HODs two months prior to the end of each employee’s contract.
Assist the Accounts & Administration Manager with accrued leave tracking
Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences, overtime and leaves
Arrange for international travels and prepare itineraries for staff.
Education and experience:
A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Public Administration
Three (3) years proven work experience
Skills (Special Training or Competence):
Confident and able to communicate with people at all levels.
Able to use initiative and work with minimum supervision.
Flexibility and able to respond to change.
Knowledge of labour laws
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Reliable and well organized.
Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office applications
