The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations department and as well as maintaining the financial health of the organization. He/She will interpret financial information to managerial staff, compile financial reports and guide the courses of action.

Responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Improve efficiencies and provide cost-reducing solutions
  • Improve current financial systems and processes
  • Manage site and project budgets. Review spending against budgets
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reports
  • Oversee cash flow management
  • Manage procurement, allocation of resources and inventory
  • Prepare employee salary sheets and ensure ZRA compliance
  • Undertake cost analysis in all critical areas
  • Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
  • Understand regulation and legislation and how they will impact the organization
  • Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information
  • Maintain relationships with external advisors and vendors
  • Liaise with auditors for annual monitoring
  • Additional tasks based on organization needs

Requirements

  • Candidates should have a degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field in conjunction with 2+ years applicable work experience
  • Registration with Zambian Institute of Chartered Accountants
  • Proven work experience with budgeting and financial reporting
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and proficiency in accounting software
  • Solid analytical and decision-making skills • Leadership abilities
  • Tech skills: Typing, E-mail, Word, Excel, smartphone usage, scanning
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Speak and write fluently in English and Cinyanja
  • Punctuality and reliability, with strong time management and organization skills
  • Experience working in a similar capacity with a small NGO operating in Zambia a plus
  • Class A or B license a plus

Package

Basic pay of 6000 Kwacha per month inclusive of transport, housing and meal allowances.
