Information Technology Officer
Reports: The Information and Technology Manager
Scope
To monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the hotel, by providing support to all departments and areas where services might be needed.
Responsibilities
- An expert understanding and ability to hand-code websites using expert technical skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, Flash etc
- Develop site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
- Installing and configuring Telephone network systems
- Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems applications
- Monitoring and Maintaining computer systems and Networks
- Assisting staff and clients by attending to the queries, requests to resolve issues relating to system set up, configuration or any system related issues.
- Assist technology users in identifying and implementing systems improvements.
- Have a good understanding of Hotel management systems i.e Tally software, Ezee software, Dove payroll
- Troubleshooting system and network problems and Diagnosing and solving hardware or Software faults
- Replacing parts as required
- Providing Support , including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
- Responding within agreed time to call- outs
- Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties if appropriate.)
- Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time
- Establishing good working relationship with guests, as well as other members of staff.
- Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a diploma in Information Technology
- 2 years experience in a similar position preferably in the hospitality industry
- Should have the ability to think logically
- Knowledge of how software and operating systems work
- Excellent Listening and Questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with guests to establish what the problem is and explain the solution

- The ability to prioritize your workload
- Attention to detail
